BEC Construction, Inc. Announces Executive Promotions

BEC Construction announces that Ross Marple, former Vice President of Operations, has been promoted to President of the Company. Ross will continue to oversee the day to day construction operations of the Company. In his new role Ross’ responsibilities will be expanded to include management of corporate operations.

Berry Coggeshall, former President and founder of BEC Construction, will take on the role of Chief Executive officer. He will continue to take an active role in the management of the corporation with a focus on achieving the company’s long term goals and growth strategies.

BEC Construction was founded in 1986 by Berry Coggeshall with a focus on residential construction and real estate development. What started as a residential construction company nearly 38 years ago has transitioned into a full-service commercial construction leader on the Grand Strand.

Mr. Marple joined BEC as Commercial Division Manager in 2015. Since that time, he has worked diligently to build a strong and positive presence for BEC along the coast of North and South Carolina. “Mr. Marple has been instrumental in the Company’s successful transition into the commercial sector over the past eight years,” commented Mr. Coggeshall. “His unparalleled integrity, knowledge of the industry, strong work ethic and leadership skills will ensure continued and positive growth into the future.”

Ross expressed his excitement, stating, he is “eager to take on the role of President of the Company and plans to continue in building a strong team of Superintendents and Project Managers to further the capabilities of the Company into the future.” He is “honored to have the opportunity.”

Ross earned his BS in Business Administration from The Citadel in Charleston, SC. Through his many years in the industry Ross has gained extensive experience in all aspects of commercial construction. Having worked in various roles, from subcontractor to general contractor and as an owner/developer representative, Ross brings a team approach that has fostered much success. In addition to his service to BEC, Ross serves as a leader in the community in several roles. He served as the president of the Waccamaw Baseball and Softball association from 2019-2023 and continues to serve on the Board; he is the current Council Vice Chair of Belin United Methodist Church and will become the Chairperson for 2025 and 2026; he is the current Vice Chair of Black River United Way Board and will serve as Chairperson for 2025 & 2026; and he has recently been appointed to sit on the Georgetown County Transportation Committee.
